Welcome to Willow Class!
Miss Kimble teaches Willow class and is supported by Mrs Staddon. Miss Mitchell also supports in Year 1.
Our PE days are Tuesday and Wednesday. Please ensure your child has a full, labelled PE kit on both of these days.
Willows visit the library on a Thursday. Your child will have the opportunity to get a book separate from their colour banded reading book, which should be returned to the library the next week in order for them to get a new book.
2017 - 2018
Your child will be issued with a library book to share with you at home. When the book is returned a new book will be issued during our weekly class library session.
Library books are barcoded and must be returned BEFORE a new book can be issued.
Your child's reading book is a colour banded levelled book, appropriate to their ability. The colour they read at home is one below the band that they read in school. This is to reinforce sight vocabulary, increase pace and fluency when reading a familiar text. In school these colour bands are assessed on a regular basis. When your child has read to you, please initial or make a comment in their Reading Record. Your child should place their Reading Record and reading book in the designated classroom box each time they read at home. Their books will then be changed. Ideally you should try to read with your child every day. Please speak to us directly if you have any questions or concerns regarding reading with your child.
